Moonstone

Moonstone is admired for adularescence—a light effect that appears to float beneath the stone’s surface as it moves. Depending on the material and viewing angle, the glow may look blue, white, silver or rainbow-colored.
As a traditional June birthstone, moonstone is often chosen for birthdays, transitions and gifts marking a new beginning. Contemporary gemstone traditions connect it with intuition, changing cycles and the ability to move through uncertainty with greater awareness. These associations are symbolic, not predictive.
Because the glow is directional, a moonstone can look different from one photograph or angle to another. Natural inclusions are common. Choose a piece based on the balance of body color, visible flash and setting—not on an expectation that every angle will show the same effect.
