Aquamarine
Aquamarine is the blue-to-greenish-blue variety of beryl, the same mineral family that includes emerald. Its name comes from the Latin words for seawater, an appropriate reference for its clean, cool color.
Sailors historically carried aquamarine as a talisman for safe passage. Today, it is commonly associated with courage, calm communication and maintaining composure during difficult conversations. These meanings belong to cultural and gemstone traditions; they do not represent guaranteed effects.
Aquamarine is also the March birthstone. Its pale color works beautifully in delicate pendants, rings and bracelets, especially with silver or white-metal settings. Color saturation, clarity and treatment vary between stones, so review individual product details before purchasing.
