Labradorite
Labradorite rewards movement. When viewed straight on, the stone may appear gray, charcoal or smoky; turn it toward the light and flashes of blue, green, gold or orange can spread across its surface. This phenomenon is known as labradorescence.
That changing appearance has made labradorite a modern symbol of transformation, intuition and remaining grounded while circumstances shift. Its meaning is best understood as a personal metaphor rather than evidence of supernatural influence.
The intensity of the flash depends on orientation, lighting and cut. A product photograph captures only a few viewing angles, so the stone may look quieter in some positions and brighter in others. Choose labradorite for this changeable quality rather than expecting constant color.
